January to March 2020

January 2020 to February 2020 Jan and Susan is still in South Africa. They enjoy the precious moments and time with their children, their grandchildren and friends. The fellowship and community with fellow brothers and sisters in Christ was very special to them. With new courage and peace, they could return to Chandame. Thank you to each and every one that surrounded them with love, prayers and care. On 27 February they departed from Rawsonville. They slept over at Van der Kloof and Kempton Park on their way to Mozambique. March 2020 Jan en Susan decided to travel through Mozambique. On this route they only had one border post to cross over. Within half an hour they were through the South African and Mozambique borders. Although the roads were bad in some places in Mozambique, they had a good and safe trip. They slept over in Maputu and after that at the N1 Lodge at Inhassoro and then in Chomoio. On 7 March 2020 at 16:00 they arrived at Chandame. Everything was so green and pretty after the rain. They were welcomed by the prettiest flowers. The people of Chandame were very glad and excited to see them. 9 March 2020 Susan started with the clinic. There were a lot of Malaria patients. In March she saw 430 patients. The patients awaits their turn by standing outside the gate, and come to the clinic one by one for their medicine. Susan wears a mask and after se saw a patient, […]

November and December 2019

November 2019 We started our Farming God’s Way project with the youth. At each Prayer house a club was established and Embewe helped with all the training. The first assignment was to make compost. Thereafter each one had to plant on a piece of land by the hand of the Farming God’s Way principles. Our main focus is on the youth, because the older people is very set in their ways when it comes to preperation of the land and planting. We reiceived open polinated yellow mielies, with the means to plant them. By using the Farming God’s Way method and principles, we plantend 2 hectre. We trust and believe that the workers that helped us with the preparation of the land and planting, will also use the same method of doing on their land. Two channels was completed on the farm Mwala Madzi. Mwala Madzi means water in the rock. Jannie made a weir in the river to carry off the water to the channels. He is planing on building a water wheel, which will help with the irrigation on the farm. The planted coffee trees is growing well en strong. The Helderberg Congregation donated a motorbike which we delivered in Milange in Mosambiek. The eye outreach instruments which was stored in Milange, we brought with us and delivered the intstruments at Villa Ulongue. December Our grandchildren, Christian en Mia-Grace Lombard, visited us at Chandame. This was a very special visit. Christian helped Jannie on the farm, and Mia-Grace […]

August 2019

Time flies – Augustus 2019 is gone – We started our children ministry gatherings and the format is to start by reading a Bible story, giving each child a A4 paper and two crayons, and then there is worship time and we end of with time of prayer. It is such a blessing to see the lovely pictures that the kids draw. There is a men’s group that get together for fellowship, worship and prayer every second week. Each morning before the clinic starts, Maria (out pastors wife) reads a Bible verse, gives a short message to the patients and ends with a prayer. In this way, the Lords message is conveyed to those visiting the clinic. From 15-18 Augustus there was a women’s conference at Mphatsa, and the theme was Walk in Faith. 468 woman attended this gathering – not only did they have the opportunity to receive lectures, they had a wonderful fellowship time amongst each other as well. They sang together, cooked together, talked a lot and did not sleep alot. On the Sunday the gathering was ended after the Church service, and everyone went home encouraged and excited after the few days together. On 27 Augustus, there was a Youth Evangelism weekend in Limbuni – one of our outposts. 91 Young people attended this weekend. Lectures were given, they had fellowship of worship and prayer together and did door to door visits. The theme of the weekend was to sit at the Feet of Jesus. The […]

June and July 2019

At the end of May 2019 we delivered two 125cc motorbikes to the pastors that finished Hefsiba at the end of 2018. They were very excited and thankful. Thank you to Missions office in the Western Cape for the donation. All is well at Chandame. We are planning to establish a youth club at each of the prayerhouses, where we want to implement the principals of Farming God’s Way. Wilhelm Els is going to assist us with this project and we do believe that the youth will be very receptive to this The crops of the 30 farmers to whom we supplied beans and fertilizer, is ready for harvesting. We are planning to create a Co-Op model, and therefor we are buying the beans back from them. The 3600 coffee trees on the farm is growing well. We are almost finished with the 70m channel that was dug by hand. This is where we are going to install the water wheel. Our highlight of June and July 2019 was the visit of the Shofar Outreach Team of Durbanville and George. This group of young people engaged with so much ease to everything here on Chandame. The woman were tought to make themselves circle skirts (all the needlework here is done by hand). There was a special ladies day, and the day ended with a pedicure treat to all the woman. House to house visits were done, they visitited the school and we had an Evangelist weekend. After that weekend, the […]

March and April 2019

After spending precious time in SA with our children, grandchildren, family and friends, we arrived back on Chandami on the 10th of March 2019. Aside from being very wet, and very green here, everything was well maintained here, and everybody was very glad to see us. The road to the farm was eroded after the heavy rains. One measurement that was taken, was 500mm of rain in only three days. After very hard work of scraping the roads, and packing rocks in the river, we could now get to the farm again. The drive to the farm now takes about 40 minutes. After Jannie went to the farm on 22 May, we can report that the coffee trees are growing well. The workers on the farm now also have clean water for drinking and cooking, as we have made a water filter for them. We sold beans to 30 farmers in the area, and the idea is to buy the beans from them after they harvested their crop. Currently their land looks good after the good rainfall. The clinic is also in full operation again. The amount of patients vary between 30 and 60 per day, and we had a lot of patients with burn wounds lately. Maria, the pastors wife, is the one that helps me with the burn wounds. Just today there were two burn wound patients – one was a little 6 year old boy who stepped into the fire with both feet, and the other was […]

October and November 2017

4th of October 2017 Riaan and Saretha Terblanche visit us on Chandame.  They bring us more coffee beans than we expected and eventually 5 variants were planted in our nursery.  We eagerly await the first harvest. 5th to the 19th of October 2017 Our daily chores continue as per usual at Chandame. 20th to the 22nd of October 2017 We host an Evangelism weekend at Namanweja where one of our prayer houses is situated.  We transport some members of the congregation with our tractor and trailer.  Jannie drove the tractor with all the congregation members on the trailer and I drove the bakkie with their entire luggage.  We start at Chandame and pick up people who want to attend the evangelism weekend along the way.  These folks are met on the main road as we do not pass each prayer house individually.  The tar road to Namanweja is good, but it takes the tractor 3 hours to drive 10 km on the dirt road.  At Namanweja, there were many speakers and there is virtually no time for the attendees to rest.  The schedule includes praise and worship, speakers and sharing meals amongst attendees.  The schedule is jam packed and there is almost no time to sleep.  300 people attended the weekend and the prayer house also received many new members. 28th to 31st of October 2017 We head over the border to Nkhoma and on the 29th, Jannie and Hennie head to Salima, Malawi.  Jannie collects the windmill that he wants to use in Chandame to help […]
