November and December 2019

November 2019

We started our Farming God’s Way project with the youth. At each Prayer house a club was established and Embewe helped with all the training. The first assignment was to make compost. Thereafter each one had to plant on a piece of land by the hand of the Farming God’s Way principles.

Our main focus is on the youth, because the older people is very set in their ways when it comes to preperation of the land and planting.

We reiceived open polinated yellow mielies, with the means to plant them. By using the Farming God’s Way method and principles, we plantend 2 hectre. We trust and believe that the workers that helped us with the preparation of the land and planting, will also use the same method of doing on their land.

Two channels was completed on the farm Mwala Madzi. Mwala Madzi means water in the rock. Jannie made a weir in the river to carry off the water to the channels. He is planing on building a water wheel, which will help with the irrigation on the farm.

The planted coffee trees is growing well en strong.

The Helderberg Congregation donated a motorbike which we delivered in Milange in Mosambiek. The eye outreach instruments which was stored in Milange, we brought with us and delivered the intstruments at Villa Ulongue.

December

Our grandchildren, Christian en Mia-Grace Lombard, visited us at Chandame. This was a very special visit. Christian helped Jannie on the farm, and Mia-Grace helped me in the clinic.

From 6 to 8 December we had a youth weekend at Chandame. 160 Young people attented this gathering. Embewe gave a teaching on Farming God’s Way, and everyone was very excited to go back and apply what the learned. The Sunday we had a church service with different choirs from the region singing as well.

Our whole bean harvest has been sold. The workers on the farm was given orders to cover the land according to the Farming God’s Way teqnique by using a blanket ((ground cover of leaves and grass that keeps the moist inside and manage pest control). They also had to dug and prepare new holes for the coffee trees that must be planted in the new year.

The weir project in the river kept Tannie busy until the 20 th of December.

On the 21st of December we starter travelling to South Africa. On the 24th of December we arrived in Rawsoneville for a well deserved break.

2019 was a year marked by a lot of highlights and we could only walked the way because the Holy Spirit was with us with each step – every moment of the day.

We conclude with Psalm 32:8

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.

Blessings to you all

Jannie and Susan Smit
